Woohoo! You just got your Welcome Home box. You might be wondering how to style your items now that you have them and we are here to help! When we curated the items for the boxes, we took into consideration how and where you can style the items in your home. Each item is versatile and easy to pair with other items.
Styling Candle Holders
If you received a candle holder in your box, which you likely did, we have come up with a few different ways to style them. At Karsen, we like to mix textures and colors. You can easily add the spiral candle holder, Victorian candle holder, tiered candle holder or candle holder with wooden base to any candle holders you already have. Don’t be afraid to mix in brass, glass, or wooden candle holders that you already have with your new ones.
Candle holders are great for filling a taller space. If you’re looking to add even more height to the space, consider stacking a few vintage books on top of each other, and placing the candle holder(s) on them. To create a vignette featuring your candle holders, use different heights of candles, whether they are 8”, 10”, or 12.” You can also change up the colors of the candles, mixing white, ivory, gray, black or taupe.

Creating a Centerpiece
The dough bowls, sugar mold, and wooden tray are perfect for creating small centerpieces. Centerpieces don’t have to be reserved for holidays, or for large areas. Add greenery, bowl filler, and other items you desire. Because of their small nature, you can add any of these items to untraditional areas. End stands, book shelves, or mantels are perfect for adding a centerpiece. You can also create small vignettes with these items and layer them with other decor items!
Items you can use as bowl filler:
Greenery
Moss/straw grass
Fabric or straw balls in various sizes
Dried or artificial potpourri

Adding height to smaller items
At Karsen, we love to make smaller items take up more space. Ideally, when you style a larger area, like a bookshelf/built-in, or a mantle, you want to vary the heights and items you have. Essentially, you want each area to be its own vignette.
The Welcome Home boxes each contain smaller items that would be perfect on their own, or stacked with other items. You can stack the dutch lantern, can lantern, or wire balls on books (a Karsen favorite). You don’t have to go out and spend a lot of money on books for stacking. Just head to your local thrift store and look for books with a removable paper cover! Not only can you use these to add height to your items, but they also add color and texture to the area.
Similar to books, you can use decorative boxes to add height to smaller items. You can use jewelry boxes, wooden boxes, or other items you may have to add your desired height. We love decorating with items when we already have, so look around your house and see what you might find! Maybe you have an old jewelry box you don’t use but want to keep, and it would work to add some items to!

Candle risers aren’t only for candles
Short wooden (or any other material) rises are great for items other than candles. You can pair any smaller item, such as the lanterns or wire ball, with a riser. If it feels too bland, add some greenery. You can use a candle riser as large or small as you want. Stack the dutch lantern on the riser and pair it with a greenery ring, or change it out for the seasons, making it bright for spring, and festive for winter.
